Self Defense Program
In response to the alarming prevalence of sexual abuse cases, we have developed a self-defense program aimed at empowering youth to protect themselves. Our goal is to equip young individuals with the skills and confidence to defend themselves in any confrontation, thereby helping to prevent and combat sexual abuse. This is a 16-week training program targeted to female youths, in several towns of Laguna, Philippines, primarily from poor, insecure, indigent areas where female youth ages 9-17 are highly vulnerable. Training consist of strikes extracted from Taekwondo, Judo, Arnis, and Kickboxing. This program serves as tool of defense in protecting themselves against sexual abuse, & molestation.Â
*We kindly seek your support though a donation to help us continue our annual self defense program to expand its reach to additional nearby towns. Your generosity will enable us to empower more individuals with essential safety skills and promote community well-being.
Transitional & Independent Living Program
In Philippines, government housing programs typically release youth from shelters upon completion of Grade 12 and/or upon reaching the age of 18. This transition often leaves these young individuals with limited option, forcing them to return to homes where they may be facing ongoing threats or abuse form their predators. In some cases, they resort to early marriage or unpaid work in an attempt to escape their circumstances, which can expose them to further exploitation and hardship.
Our Transitional and Independent Living program is designed to assist these youth in moving them from shelter life to independent living by facilitating access to employment opportunities. Skybridge has established partnership with several companies in Philippines to support their employment prospects. Additionally, we collaborate with government vocational institutions that works with large corporations to provide training for these young individuals. Upon completing their training, they often have the opportunity to become full-time employees of these companies, enabling them independence. Skybridge also provides support with their immediate needs, such as food and accommodation, until they secure full-time employment providing them the opportunity to live independently bridging them to build a better and brighter future.
*Your support through a donation to this program will enable us to provide essential resources such as food, accommodation, and personal needs, thereby assisting these adults in their transition toward independent living.Â
Hospitality Training Program
Employment opportunities in Philippines are often limited and highly competitive, making it challenging for many individuals to secure stable jobs. Our hotel training program is a three-year collegiate level studies at a TESDA (Technical Education and Skills Development Authority) funded by the Government accredited institution. This program aims to select top students who have graduated from the Hotel & Restaurant Management course at TESDA and provide them with the opportunity to participate in Skybridge Hotel Training Program. The training includes comprehensive hotel management skills as well as English language proficiency. As TESDA is a government institution, many of these graduates come from underprivileged backgrounds. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will be offered employment opportunities either locally through our hotel partners or internationally through our hotel partners in United States. This opportunity to work overseas has potential to significantly change their lives, offering brighter future. Particularly in the United States where values such as equality, freedom, and human rights are highly prioritized, this experience can open doors to new possibilities and improved quality of life for these underprivileged individuals.Â
We are currently in the process of developing our own Skybridge Hotel & Training Center located in Laguna, Philippines, with an anticipated opening in 2027.Â
*Your donation to this program will enable us to cover the rental costs of our training center and salaries for our staffs and instructors. Additionally, we seek funding to support the construction of our hotel and training facility to expand our capacity and enhance the training experience.Â
